Navigating Avatar: The Way of Water in Aquatic Adventures

Avatar: The Way Of Water … The movie is set 14-15 years after the first film’s events due to a one year time skip during the story, with most of the film’s events set in 2170 after the time skip. Similar to the first film, the story is set across months with only the more important scenes being shown.

As the second movie, The Way of Water, follows the journey of Jake Sully and Neytiri’s newfound family of five children. Despite their best efforts to keep their family together, a familiar threat resurfaces and forces the Sully family to become refugees and flee to the land of the Metkayina clan in the Pandoran oceans.

Avatar: The Way Of Water Movie Review

I never was a fan or even interested in the Avatar movie until a few months back when I first saw Avatar. I wasn’t super hyped but kinda liked it and was excited for the second one. The story of the first one contains topics, as a society have to deal with. But that’s something I’ll go more into detail on a separate review.

Avatar: The Way Of Water is some kind of a different experience. As I never was a huge fan, I have to admit that the movie really amazed me at some point. The whole experience it gave the audience, it was really amazing. The whole world was beautiful, from the air and even from underwater.

With fantasy-created animals whose behaviour reminded much of real ones and you cried for when one of them would get hurt. The interaction between the Na’vi’s and their soul-siblings in animal form was as if they’d stand nearby each other. As a tribe living near the water, they have a close connection to their water-animal friends. They’d protect eachother but also laugh and cry with one another.

For the simple fact everything’s made with CGI, I personally never had the feeling as if it looked like fake or anything. Rather the opposite. When the movie ended, I was quite sad having to leave the beautiful world behind.

I loved every side-story of the characters which was part of a big main story. Jake and his family have to go through some challenges to get where they are now. As they have to leave the place where they grew up and called their home, they find a new place with new challenges and a great character development experience during the movie. As in every single one of the family has to make their own experience, they grow closer as a whole.
The plot in all is very well

I’m just re-listening to the soundtrack to get back into the feeling I had during the movie and all I can say is, that it really sounds amazing and puts me right back into it.

Final Thoughts

The movie was pretty watch-worthy for me. As I wasn’t ever a huge fan of the first movie and never watched it before I went for the second one, I still could enjoy it after getting hyped for it. The used CGI is pretty amazing and overall I’d call it a fun, enjoyable movie.

As I know, the review is pretty late, since I watched it already back in January but it’s really worth to write about it.

Have you seen the The Way of Water? What do you think of it? Have you seen the first as well and enjoyed it? Let me know in the comments!
